The Finalist
Eldridge + The Last Place You Look + Sidewise + The Last Starfighter + Goodnight Goddess

ELDRIDGE
Success comes easily for this power trio. Eldridge has a large following thanks to the success Christopher and Dan have had touring hundreds of times with previous bands. Goodwin has also performed with the likes of Korn, Evanesence, Atreyu, Flyleaf, and HellYeah on The Family Values Tour as the lead guitarist of The Last Starfighter. Christopher and Dan were also in a previous band that soared to 9 on the R&R charts in 2003 named The Modern Day John. Eldridge also has been nominated for best album (Rumours of War) and best song (Recognition of a Failing Heartbeat) in the state of Texas by 94.5FM The Buzz out of Houston. Most recently Eldridge won Band of the Year by 94.5FM The Buzz.

Brave Combo

BRAVE COMBO
Brave Combo. Rarely, if ever, has a band name been more apropos, not only at the group's inception, but even more so 26 years after the fact. At first glance, back in 1979, the Denton, Texas, based outfit was, in shorthand, pegged as a New Wave polka band, a courageous if not almost oxymoronic endeavor during that particular rebirth of the cool. Yet it clicked and launched a stunning run that has now catapulted it into the new century. Over the last 26 years, Brave Combo has collected a dizzying array of descriptive musical pegs, boldly going where few bands have gone before, and even fewer could (or would) dare to venture. Succeeding in its first mission, Brave Combo is America's premier contemporary polka band, and a Grammy winning one at that. In the same breath, to name some but hardly all of the colors found on Brave Combo's musical palette, one can describe them as a groundbreaking world music act, a hot jazz quintet, a rollicking rock'n'roll bar band, a Tex-Mex conjunto, a sizzling blues band, a saucy cocktail combo, a deadly serious novelty act, a Latin orchestra, and one of America's dance bands par excellence. It's all in a night's music for Brave Combo, often in a synergistic fashion that includes everything from klezmer surf rock to rocking cha cha to what The Washington Post calls "mosh pit polka," as well as to the hokey pokey and the chicken dance. And zyedeco, acid rock, Muzak, bubblegum, cumbia, classical, and the twist, to still not exhaust the list. This plethoric multitude of musical styles and flavors is frequently mixed, matched, and melded, into delicious, new concoctions by an imaginative team of musical gourmet master chefs.

Otenki
Like A Movie + Better Luck+ So Called Tragedy + To Write Her A Letter

OTENKI
Formed in the summer of 2004, the rock/pop quintet of Otenki (now consisting of Enoma Asowata (rhythm guitar/vocals), German Hernandez( lead vocals), Fausto Padilla(lead guitar/vocals/programming), Josh Tenorio(bass/vocals) and new comer Kris Hiatt(drums)) had a start that most bands would envy. Formed through exchanging emails through mutual friends, within six months of being a band, they headed to California to record their first EP. Also during those formative months, they were selected by MySpace users to play with My Chemical Romance and The Used during the inaugural year of the Taste of Chaos Tour. Shortly after that they performed at the 2005 Vans Warped Tour and the 2006 Taste of Chaos tour.
The band opted to hit the road for a 2 month self booked/promoted full US tour. They continued to hone their skills while being on the road and enduring the hardships of the DIY lifestyle. While continuing the writing process the band knew they would have to look beyond themselves to bring out all the potential the new material had. At the end of the band’s summer tour, the decision was made to work with record producer Paul Leavitt. Leavitt’s work includes pop punk heavy weights All Time Low, and Over It, as well as The Bled, Senses Fail, Circa Survive, Conditions, Mercy Mercedes, and newly signed Gwen Stacy. In November of 2007 the band headed to Valencia Recording Studio in Baltimore to work on the collection of songs that would become "Making Sense of Static".
"As the title of the record suggests, the songs are about finding your place in the world. This record is the summation of us trying to figure ourselves out. And hopefully people can take hold of something to relate to in it," states Asowata. Starting out with the darkest and heaviest song "Empty Words", a song about the falling out of friends or lovers, to the ending track "The Impossible", a power-pop anthem of chasing dreams but being thankful for what you have, Otenki has redefined themselves with this effort. With thousands of miles clocked, over one hundred of shows played, and a ever growing fan base, Otenki has risen from the ashes a transformed group of wiser, more focused individuals that share one goal…to never slow down.
